In this edition, we're delighted to feature Frederick Ward, the owner of Ward A/C Solutions, who was nominated by Jenna Scharf, Realtor at Treeline Realty. Frederick has won a complimentary mini photoshoot here at our office and interview for his exceptional service and dedication in the air conditioning industry.

"I'm Frederick Ward, owner of Ward A/C Solutions. I was born and raised in Fort Myers, FL, and have been in the HVAC industry for about 20 years, primarily as an A/C technician. After realizing I was often the first person family and friends would call for air conditioning advice and service, I decided to study for the Florida state contractor license test. After passing the contractor test, I started my own air conditioning company, A/C Solutions, in 2018.
Growing up in a single-parent household with three siblings taught me that nothing is handed to you; if you want something, you must work hard to achieve it. This understanding influenced me to fund my way through A/C trade school full-time while working full-time shortly after high school, aiming to turn a job into a career.
One of the biggest challenges I faced when starting Ward A/C Solutions was establishing our business's presence in the market so clients would know the type of services we offer and trust in our reliability. I overcame this hurdle by partnering with Angie's List, which helped us connect with new clients looking for local contractors.
The achievements I am most proud of in my career so far are passing the Florida state contractor licensing test and starting my own air conditioning company. The most rewarding part of running Ward A/C Solutions is seeing the appreciation from clients when we solve their A/C issues.
My advice to young entrepreneurs in the HVAC industry is to remember that hard work pays off in the long run. Keep your overhead low and pass those savings onto your clients.
Staying motivated and inspired in my work comes from knowing we help our clients with a crucial part of their homes and businesses. Ward A/C Solutions has positively impacted the local community by providing affordable, trustworthy, and reliable HVAC services.
Looking ahead, one of my aspirations for Ward A/C Solutions is to expand our HVAC services to surrounding counties like Collier, Hendry, and Charlotte.
Through this entrepreneurial journey, I've learned that the trials and tribulations I've faced have prepared me well for running my own air conditioning company.
Balancing personal life with the demands of being a business owner is challenging, especially when married with a set of boy/girl twins demands a lot of time. Fortunately, being an owner allows me the flexibility to manage my schedule, whether it's taking the kids to music lessons, going on a weekend vacation, or enjoying a staycation with the family."
